About The Ditsy

Finding the magic makers…

The Ditsy is a quiet editorial home for the people who still make children’s things by hand — and a place for our community who appreciate them.

There is a particular kind of object a family holds onto — a smocked dress, a hand-knit blanket, a painted wooden horse. It is rarely the cheapest thing, or the newest. It is the thing that was made tenderly, by someone whose name you came to know.

The Ditsy exists to find those people. We are not a marketplace; we are an edit — a curated mesh of magic makers of homemade goods for babies and children, gathered in one community of appreciation.

Every week we feature a new maker: an interview, photographs of their work, and a direct line to their own shop. No middle-man, no markup — just the story, told plainly, and a way to find them.

We started The Ditsy to gather the makers we love in one warm place — the late-night stitchers, the dreamers, the ones who pour themselves into every small detail. If that’s you, we are so glad to know you.

Take your time here; there are no wrong answers — and bare-bones replies are perfectly welcome too. We’ll wave a little Ditsy magic over the rest.

What’s your name, your brand, and where can we find you?

Tell us how to introduce you to the world.

Question Two · The Person & the Why

Who are you, where do we find you on an ordinary morning — and was there a moment you knew you had to make this, or did it arrive slowly?

Start with the person, not the business — then the spark, however it came. A lightning bolt or a slow unfolding; both are true.

Question Three · What Holds the Days

What actually holds your days together — the tools, the people, the small rituals you’d be lost without?

The honest version, not the polished one. Even one good thing you’d be lost without is plenty.

Question Four · The Harder Days

Every maker has days when it feels heavy. What carries you through them?

No need to dress it up — just what’s true.

Question Five · Advice & Inspiration

What’s one piece of advice you’d hand to someone just beginning — and who, or what, do you return to when you need reminding yourself?

Giving and receiving, in equal measure.

Question Six · Legacy

Years from now, a child picks up something you made. What do you hope they feel — and what do you hope they remember about the hands behind it?

One imagined moment, years from now — that’s where the real answer lives.

We’d love 5–10 images that show your work and your world. Originals welcome — we’ll lightly edit for The Ditsy’s aesthetic. You, your pieces, your hands at work, your space — anything that tells your story.
